I think I'm having an issue with the driver. I'm on Windows7x64.
I installed the Arduino IDE (got several prompts for USB, COM and LPT driver installs) and installed the 2 non-firmware JewelBot boards without any errors. When I first connected the JewelBot, Windows gave me a warning notice that the USB device wasn't installed correctly. When I look at the device properties, it's showing the device's chip model (
FT230X UART) so it seems like it's identifying it correctly. The IDE is only showing
COM1, so I left that choice. I selected the solo coding board, set the JewelBot into coding mode and attempted to upload my first program. I got a "Done uploading" message in the IDE but also see several errors after what appears to be standard informational output:
Timed out waiting for acknowledgement from device.
Failed to upgrade target. Error is: No data received on serial post. Not able to proceed.
When I first plugged in the JewelBot I got the normal Windows "USB Connected" sound. Since then, when I connect, I get a grumpier "there's a problem with the USB" sound. I've tried several ports, no difference. I also rebooted thinking that the drivers just needed a clean load. No help there either.
Anyone else have this issue and resolve it?
